The Red Hornet mine is a silver mine located outside of Hailey down Rock Creek Road. The mine consists of several tailings piles and a few collapsed openings. One of the mine opening structures is still visible. There are a lot of wood and metal artifacts laying around.
Directions
This mine is accessible from Rock Creek Road. With 4-wheel drive and some clearance, you’ll be able to drive to this mine. If not, you can park at the turn out right off of the road. It’s about a 1.5 mile walk from Rock Creek Road to the mine site.
