This mine is buried deep in the White Clouds Wilderness. It’s accessible via horseback or foot. It’s at the base of Castle Peek. While the small structure that’s left is interesting, it pales in comparison to the surrounding wilderness.
Directions
The upper building is a bit hard to find. The easiest way to locate this is to start at the Baker Lake campground. Continue through the campground and up the old logging or mining road. It follows the trail but winds a bit more and there are many more down trees. You will pass several old structures. Once you reach the top, you can choose to climb up to Castle Lake. I’ve highlighted the bridge that leaves the Baker Lake campground on the map.
