The Mohawk Mining Company Stamp Mill is a historic site that showcases the remnants of Michigan’s copper mining industry. The mill was used to crush and process copper ore, and today visitors can explore the ruins and learn about the area’s mining history. There is a sign detailing the large sand deposit that is the result of the stamp mill operations. You can actually drive out onto the sand deposit and walk around. It extends out into Lake Superior.
