This mine is located right off of Slaughterhouse Creek Road and easily visible. There is a large tailing pile near road with several other small piles up the mountainside. The southern aspect was free of snow. The large tailing pile still has an opening with a pipe and bars covering it. There are some wood and metal artifacts at the base of the tailing pile.
We saw a large herd of deer up the mountain from the mine.
Directions
This mine is located out Slaughterhouse Canyon east of Bellevue. Drive out Slaughterhouse Creek Road. You can either park before the road turns to dirt or drive past the new subdivision to a parking area in the middle of the canyon. The mine is visible almost immediately to your left.
